What data I collect and why. If you subscribe to the “5 Bytes” letters, I store your email address to send you the five letters and, later, the invitation to the community. If you write to me by email, I keep your message to reply to you. Nothing else is collected: this site uses no advertising cookies and no tracking.

Legal basis. Your consent, given when you subscribe (GDPR, art. 6.1.a), and my legitimate interest in replying to messages you send me (art. 6.1.f).

Who processes the data. Emails are sent through MailerLite (MailerLite Limited, Ireland), which acts as a processor within the European Union. The site is hosted on Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.), which processes visitors’ IP addresses to serve and protect the site; transfers to the United States are covered by the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long. Until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in any email, or until you ask me to delete your data. Messages you send me are kept for as long as our conversation needs them.

Your rights. You can ask me at any time to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to stop processing it, by writing to the address above. You can also complain to the Portuguese data protection authority (CNPD).
